We, the people of the Church of Peace United Church of Christ in Rock Island, Illinois, seek to be a community of Christians who celebrate and live in openness to the still-speaking God.

Churches United of the Quad City Area

The roots of Churches United's Hunger Ministry were established in 1976 with the opening of 10 food pantries. This program has become the largest provider of free food in our bi-county area with 25 food pantries and 2 free hot meal sites serving dinner six days each week, every week of the year.

First Congregational Church

While the denomination is clearly inclusive and affirming, due to the free nature of our denomination, not every congregation was as accomodating; thus arose a designation called Open & Affirming, where a congregation is intentional about welcoming and affirming LGTBQIA+ individuals.
